Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards while promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. This role involves conducting assessments, developing policies, and implementing training programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Interface with employees on the implementation of engineering and administrative controls to enhance safety and environmental compliance.
- Lead job hazard analysis and hazard assessments to identify loss potential in our systems and processes, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Train employees and supervisors in general safety, environmental regulation, and specific program and job requirements.
- Conduct regular facility-wide inspections and audits to identify and correct potential hazards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Assist in activities to implement engineering controls aimed at improving processes
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and improvements.
- Participate in the safety committee to foster a proactive safety culture.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain and manage hazard tracking systems to document risks and corrective actions
- Prepare and track formal risk acceptance documentation and system safety certifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- 2+ years of experience in safety and environmental or engineering roles preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, job safety analysis processes, and accident investigation experience
- Ability to manage projects with timely delivery and develop good working relationships
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to walk long distances in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
